"Die Kurve" Housing Coop

@Oberseestraße 110, 13055 Berlin

2026_02_die_kurve_gruppenfoto_bearbeitet Welcome! "Die Kurve" (The Curve) is a diverse group of people building a housing cooperative in Berlin for people who are willing to commit to a shared, sustainable way of living.

Our house will be built close to Lake Obersee and the Orankesee lido, yet firmly wired into the vibe of Berlin.

This project is designed for active tenants who want to participate and shape a shared idea of living in a community. Shared responsibility, collective decision-making, and a willingness to shape everyday life together over a long term, are part of everybody's dedication in this mutual endeavour. Our cooperative ecosystem is loosely based on Sociocracy and Microsolidarity principles. All of our members are invited to live in line with these principles and to actively contribute to an operational, yet vivid house community.

All apartments are part of Berlin's subsidized housing system (WBS 220). WBS (Wohnberechtigungsschein - housing eligibility certificate) is for people who are looking for subsidised housing (social housing) and have a low income. The number behind WBS indicates that you must have a specific income range. WBS 220 specifically targets a medium range income group.

Currently, only 3- and 4-room apartments are available. It is mandatory for WBS-granted apartments that the number of people moving in matches the number of rooms. At this stage 8 units are available: 3 x four-room an 5 x three-room apartments.

A typical 3-room apartment would be suitable for two adults and one or two children. The kitchen is a combined kitchen living space thus counts as one room.

A cooperative is common property. It is non-speculative, non-profit orientated and long-term financially sustainable. If you join the cooperative you make a one-time equity contribution (Genossenschaftsanteile) and acquire a permanent right to live in the house at a cost-based rent. Planned move-in date is for 2028.

Please be aware that you have to trade individual optimisation with a shared, stable and self-organised living environment.
